Featherwinds On Facebook

Featherwinds has increased our presences on the internet. We have opened a Facebook account, featuring additional updates and pictures. We will be using Facebook as a "preview" to updates and upgrades to our website. While a new webpage is being created, we will post images for the new webpage on Facebook as a preview to what is coming.

Be sure to check our Facebook for updates. In the future, we will also be running dedicated lodging specials that will be only available on Facebook. You will have to copy the special from our Facebook into the comment section of our online reservation serve. The Facebook specials will also be announced on our blog and also twitter.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Special

We are happy to announce our new special: Chicken Cordon Bleu Casual Dinner for two. This is a limited time special, but is it good at any facility you book. The Chicken Cordon Bleu Dinner Special is good from April 18, 2009 thru June 28, 2009. If you book at the B & B style Guest Inn, the Bed and Breakfast, Garden Lodge, Bunk House, or the Frontier Cabin, you can order this wonderful dinner. Dinner special is for the second night of your two night minimum stay. If you book at the Guest Inn or the Bed and Breakfast, dinner is served at 7:00pm in the dinning room. If you have booked at the Garden Lodge, Bunk House or the Frontier Cabin, dinner is delivered your second night at about 7:00pm. For can check availability or book on line at:

Featherwinds Reviews

Our new Reviews and Comments Page is up and running. We will be adding more review pages as they are completed. The reviews and comments list on the pages are excerpts from our guest book and also from thank you cards we have received in the mail.

Flowers, Nursery Closed

Unfortunately, Featherwinds will not be operating their nursery this year. Normally, in the past, Featherwinds has operated Mountain Bounty Nursery. This is a nursery the owners and staff of Featherwinds started several years ago. With the growing demand from local and visiting friends and guests, Featherwinds increased its growing operation by over 200% from each previous year. Unfortunately, we will not be operating our nursery this year; fortunately it is because of our commitments to weddings, events and retreats scheduled for this spring, summer and fall. These commitments have to take precedent to our growing operation. We will not be taking down our "green house", "holding area" or our "sales area". We have not decided if closing the Nursery will be for just this year or if is going to be a permanent closure.

Thank you for your understanding and thank you for making our Nursery one of the biggest and most successful in the area.

Spring Is Coming, Snow Is Leaving

Even though we have been receiving snow lately, the much warmer daytime temperatures have melted most of the snow. The grass is starting to turn green and grow, bulbs are breaking ground and birds are returning to the area. The sun is out and temperatures are on the rise!

Fishing, hiking, horseback riding are all activities offered in the Upper Valley just outside of Leavenworth, Washington. If you are looking to get in that last snowshoe trip, you better hurry! Want to hit the slopes for that last ski or snowboard run, now is the time. Although conditions are starting to warm, there are some areas still open and available for snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing.

You can stay at Featherwinds Lodging, then enjoy the day in the great outdoors or maybe take in a shopping trip to the Bavarian town of Leavenworth. Enjoy the sounds of birds as they return for the spring and summer. Watch for wildlife as they start to move around and explore the "new" surroundings.

You have many options in the Lake Wenatchee/Fish Lake Recreation Area in the Leavenworth Upper Valley of Leavenworth, Washington.

Wedding Cakes

We have recently uploaded a few wedding cake pictures to our live blog site. The pictures are just a few examples of the custom wedding cakes Featherwinds has made for weddings. Our wedding cakes are made fresh and designed for the bride and groom. No two wedding cakes are designed the same. Even when the same cake top is used (supplied by bride and groom) the cakes are different.

Be sure to check out the Peacock cake. This cake is one many specialty custom wedding cakes. Our cakes can be of a basic design to very elaborate design. We will be uploading more cakes pictures while we are re-designing our wedding cake web page.

We are in the process of updating our Wedding Cakes Picture webpage. The revamped, new design and new pictures should be up and running soon. The new page will have thumbnails of more wedding cake pictures. If you click on the thumbnail you will see a large version of the thumbnail. In some cases the thumbnail when clicked on will display a slideshow of several pictures featuring the wedding cake. All of the new pictures are taken by our photographer and offer a better insight of our wedding cakes.

We offer a variety of cake flavors and fillings for you to choose from. Currently, our wedding packages include the wedding cake! We make our wedding and event cakes based on the number of guests for your event.
